Janice Brewington Named Luminary Fellow in Inaugural ADLN Class

Janice Brewington, a Galen College of Nursing board member, was honored recently as a Luminary Fellow in the inaugural class of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing (ADLN).

The inaugural ADLN Fellows are recognized for their significant contributions to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). Each Luminary Fellow has at least 30 years of nursing experience and continues to pave the way for greater JEDI while engaging in innovative groundbreaking work.

This recognition highlights Dr. Brewington’s outstanding contributions to JEDI in nursing, aligning with Galen’s mission to foster an inclusive and equitable environment for all students and staff.

Reflecting on her achievement, Dr. Brewington said, “Being selected as a Luminary Fellow in the inaugural class of ADLN is an incredible honor. This recognition is not just a personal milestone but a validation of the collective efforts of all who strive to make nursing a more inclusive and equitable profession. I am proud to represent Galen and to continue working towards a future where JEDI principles are at the forefront of healthcare.”

The Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing aims to recognize and support nursing professionals who have made impactful contributions to JEDI. Dr. Brewington’s induction into this group serves as an inspiration to her peers and the next generation of nurses.

The inaugural ADLN induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 25, in San Francisco, CA, following the opening of the 52nd Annual Institute and Conference of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA).
